16. KANNONJI TEMPLE’S TSUIJI-BEI/Old mud wall


This mud wall “Tsuiji-bei” was made in the Edo period, it is made from mud and tiles.
Tile-roofed walls like this is are rare in Japan now.
If you stand at front of it, you may feel to become Ninja!

土と瓦を交互に重ねて屋根瓦を葺いたもので、谷中のシンボル的存在の一つ。
