9. KIRA-TEI-ATO/Former site of Kira’s premises

The revenge story of Ako-Roshi clan in the Edo period has been loved by many Japanese for a long time. Ako-Roshi clan avenged Kira here in 1702. Because Kira made the root of Ako-Roshi team’s boss Kuranosuke Oishi took suicide. Very many plays and movies titled “Chushingura” about it have made/opened since the Edo period almost every year.
Now, this former site is in a very small park “Honjo-matuszaka-cho-koen”. A part of wall “Namako-kabe” has survived. Also the well. You can enter from a small door until the evening. Bench helps you spend a calm time here.
